This major global mining company is seeking to hire a senior project controls person to take on the leadership of their Project Development Group. With several large $1Billion plus projects on the horizon you will lead the owners multi-disciplined team of experienced project professionals - estimating, accounting, planning and scheduling.

In addition to an appropriate education in engineering or construction you must have 20 years of progressive experience in project management and controls of large construction projects in mining, oil and gas or infrastructure. As a proven leader in this field you should be able to demonstrate a track record of commitment to safety and environmental protection while ensuring health and sustainability of all the associated functional disciplines and providing overall alignment, coordination and guidance.

MINE OPERATIONS MANAGER

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced mining engineer to play a lead role in returning this past producing gold mine back into production. Previously recognised for its prolific production it is nearing completion of construction and rehabilitation activities with first gold pour planned for early 2024.

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for providing on-site coordination for all phases of mine site activities, ensuring company safety, policies and procedures are being strictly followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. As Manager you will be responsible for scheduling, inspection, quality control, job site safety to ensure employee and operational performance meets established quality, productivity and cost objectives. The Manager will also commit to embedding and fostering the company health and safety culture of ‘No Harm’ while ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations.

Ideally you will be a graduate mining engineer with a minimum 10 years of progressive experience in underground mining operations, solid technical skills and unwavering commitment to safety. On a personal level you have exceptional interpersonal qualities, proven leadership skills and are committed to a collaborative culture that practices coaching, mentoring and employee development.

You must be a graduate in mining engineering, P. Eng. and your experience will include at least 3 years in hard rock open pit mining operations. Well practiced in mine planning and the application of relevant soft ware you will carry out due diligence and evaluations by reviewing studies, conducting site visits and understanding expectations in order to qualify and validate open pit mining projects.

Your knowledge, experience and appreciation for efficient mine engineering and production will be instrumental in your ability to complete reports on which client decisions will be based. Also, important will be fostering good working relationships with clients and your potential for securing business opportunities.

This is an excellent professional opportunity for a solid technical mining engineer who wants to advance his/her experience and knowledge base by working on a variety of projects.
